What does AVG 7.5 say about things?



Please delete the version of HiJackThis.exe you have installed, then download the new version from here:

HIJACKTHIS




Please go to hijackthis.exe and right click on it and then click on rename and rename it to foolyou.exe, press enter
and post a new log from the newly renamed hijackthis.exe. Sometimes malware hides from hijackthis.exe.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
• Click the Scan for Vundo button.
• Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
• You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
• Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
• When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
• Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.



1. Download this file - COMBOFIX
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.


Post a new hijackthis log also please.

Open Hijackthis.

Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.

Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.

Click the "Save list..." Button.

Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Old version of hijackthis showed vundo trojan, new version doesn't. Strange.


You did not rename hijackthis like I requested.


Did you do a scan with AVG 7.5 after updateing it?

Run hijackthis and click on system scan only button and put checks next to these:

DELETE FILES:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wudb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winuns32.dll



Reboot normal mode and...


Look for this folder and tell me what is in it please:

C:\DOCUME~1\Paula\Application Data\option dead


Post a new hijackthis log and tell me how your computer is behaving now please.

Delete that folder option dead it is LOP infection. If it will not delete reboot to safe mode to delete it.


Everything else looks ok except gamespy arcade is considered adware but that is up to you on that.



Update Java: Security Issue

* Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
* Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )

It should have next icon next to it:
Select it and click Remove.
* The current version can be downloaded from Sun here: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp Scroll down the page to 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u2 and press the 'Download' button. On the new web page, click the 'Accept License Agreement' button. Then select 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' in the Windows Platform area just below the Accept button.



Everything still ok?
