Hey,
So here's my dilemma. One day my computer was working fine, and the next day Windows loads and I get to my desktop... and it just stays there. I can see my backround, but none of my folders - as well, there's a timer next to my cursor (it seems to be timing the computer lagging?) Anyway, I tried opening the Task Manager and it just seems like it's frozen.

So, I opened it in Safe Mode and it worked! I was able to run Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware and AVG Spyware Detecter 7.5. However, I couldn't open up my Norton Antivirus for some reason - it just tells me it's unresponsive when I try to open it.

I figured I try and opening it normally but with all the programs booting up, so I ran msconfig and unchecked everything... It lagged a bit at the beginning (as in it wouldn't allow me to click anything) but then it ran normally.

Do not run with networking support unnecessarily as this can be very unsafe - minimal protection running.



You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure ’Run fixit’ is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

Once the desktop loads, post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.

You are missing a file which is preventing you from running the wareoutfix tool.

Go to the link below and select your operating system and click the link on that site and follow instructions for obtaining the missing file and try the wareoutfix tool again please.
