    Sorry for the delay, you have a backdoor Trojan and is bad and can steal information from your computer includeing banking and credit card information. Might consider that information very seriously and from a clean computer you should change passwords etc. immediately and notify any companies of that trojan. Your computer could be seriously compromised.

    Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

    Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
    • Choose your usual account.
    • In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All,
    • Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
    • Type Y to begin the script.
    • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
    • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
    • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
    • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
    • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

    One other thing when you post a new hijackthis log...

    Please go to hijackthis.exe and right click on it and then click on rename and rename it to foolyou.exe, press enter
    and post a new log from the newly renamed hijackthis.exe. Sometimes malware hides from hijackthis.exe.

    Hello, thank you very much for replying, I downloaded the software and then tried rebooting in safe mode. But it gets towards the end and then just restarts again. My machine is booting up ok in normal mode but I can't get into safe mode.... I think im doomed, do you have any ideas what I should do!

    Thank you so much

    Dan

    I replied to the private message you sent with this:

    To use the System Configuration Utility method

    Close all open programs.
    Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK
    The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted.
    The computer restarts in Safe mode.
    Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
    When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer

    Ok, I tried setting to boot in safe mode from MSCONFIG, but now my machine trys to start in safe mode and then restarts afterthe xp screen, so its now stuck in a loop. I have tried F8 and selecting different options but it still does the same. i'm now on a friends machine. Is there anyway out of this? Thimgs just don't seem to be going right for me do they! lol

    Thank you

    uncheck safe mode from msconfig and see if you can do this. probably not since it keeps rebooting. Doesn't sound good does it?

    Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
    ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

    * Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
    * This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
    * Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
    * Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
    * Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
    * Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
    * When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found:

    * If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

    This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
    * After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
    * Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
    * Close Dr.Web Cureit.
    * Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
    * After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply. You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report.

    Sounds like your computer has been toasted by that Trojan.

    You can't even get to desktop?

    No I can't get to my desktop at all.

    I think the only way forward is to in xp on a new hard drve and then recover my old disks... is this possible?

    Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
    If I was you I would take it to a local computer shop with all your disks and let them have the chore.

    good luck
