When I am using Internet Explorer it frequently begins "Not Responding" and I have to end program and reopen it. I have Ad-Aware SE Personal and Spybot - Search & Destroy and have run both and allowed them to remove various tracking cookies. I also use Window's Live OneCare I ran a virus and spyware scan and it found "no potentially harmful or unwanted software" on my computer. You are not running HijackThis (HJT) from a desired location. You really need to setup a dedicated folder for HJT items – to avoid horrible clutter and/or potential lost backup issues.

It's best that the HijackThis tool NOT be located in its current location (particularly on your Desktop or in a TEMP folder). This way you can more easily undo any changes if something goes wrong.

• Create a new folder in your C: Drive.
• Name the FOLDER HijackThis (or HJT) such as C:\Program Files\HijackThis or C:\HJT and
• Move the HijackThis.exe file into the newly created FOLDER.
• Run HJT from there (and revise your shortcut accordingly).

Are you running any other active antivirus tools beside Window's Live OneCare. There appears to be possible leftover components from McAfee if you previously uninstalled McAfee or did an online scan.



Post a revised HijackThis LOG as well as any additional comments you may think of. When did this start happening (since a new install or uninstall)?

No I do not have more than one Virus program because I know that running more than one causes issues. I did have McAffee and I thought it was all removed. The reason for my faulty thinking in this is that when I had problems I contacted the McAffee website and they sent me a file to use that was supposed to completely clean them out of my system. Yeah right - they probably thought that if they left just enough that it caused problems I would reinvest in their system thinking that they were the better choice.

I have rerun the Hijack this log as requested - please advise.

I have also run into a new difficulty. I am trying to uninstall PalTalk from my computer (it shows up twice in Add/Remove Programs) and one is telling me "Could not load initialization file" and the other is telling me "Failed to find uninstall data file"
