I'm afraid I have unpleasant news for you. You have a very dangerous infection on this machine. With a serious infection like this, I would recommend that you seriously consider a reformat and reinstall.

If you do not want to do this, do not ever use the computer for anything confidential. Let us know how you wish to proceed.

The infection installs itself primarily in machines that have not had all the Win XP updates installed. It allows outsiders COMPLETE access to every keystroke, account, and password you use while on this machine, and complete access to anything else present...

My best recommendation is to Disconnect from internet, backup critical user files, Re-Format the entire drive and re-install your Operating system and Applications.

We can likely clean the infected files off the computer but we cannot be sure that the files involved didn't do anything to your system to reduce overall system security. Even after removal of the infection, you could be vulnerable to another attack or takeover as soon as you connect to the net again.

You are strongly advised to do the following immediately:
    1. Disconnect infected computer from the Internet and from any networked computers until the computer can be cleaned.

    2. If you have ever used this computer for shopping, banking, or any transactions relating to your financial well being:
Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts and/or change all your account numbers.

    3. From a clean computer, change *ALL* your online passwords -- for ISP login, email, banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, online companies, any online forums or groups you belong to.

Do NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information.

Also take any other steps appropriate for an attempted identity theft.

Truthfully, I think you are fighting a losing battle. Your infection may be so embedded that you will be subject to continuing rounds of reinfection for unknown reasons. Additionally, if you do not change all your passwords as suggested someone may be able to reaccess your PC and continue to compromise your machine.

As eventual additional malware issues may arise, many unfortunate users often go on a search for the ultimate infection protection tools (many of which are clearly unreliable or scumware themselves) or start to run too many tools at the same time. Then there are those that start fiddling with their registry often making things even possibly worse. Many such downloads and uninstalls later, their gets to be many leftovers, remnant or undetectable incompatibilities, and possible incomplete uninstall issues. It gets to the point that a complete reinstall may be the only reliable resolution for such unknowable and seemingly irresolvable issues.

Your EWIDO is no longer current. Here is the revised procedures to install and run the new version:

You will be restarting into Safe Mode later on in the fix and you might not be able to access the Internet. Accordingly, it is probably a good idea to print out the following directions or copy them to a text file on your desktop using NOTEPAD. Read these instructions carefully and feel free to ask if you're unsure about anything.

Download and install AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 (AVG AS - formally known as Ewido anti-spyware 4.0 - uninstall any previous version first).
    • Click the Download BUTTON. On the next page click the Download now BUTTON.
    • Save and then install (Run) from the save location.
    • Open/Run AVG Anti-Spyware
    • Wait a few moments and AVG Anti-Spyware should Auto update itself (note date of last update). If it doesn't update, click the update ICON at top of screen:

    • Click on the Update now LINK at the top of the window
      • Click on the Start update button
      • Wait for the update to download and install
  5. This is very important to get the LATEST updates.
  6. Click on the Status ICON
    • Under "Your computers Security"
Click change status on Resident shield to inactive (ONLY consider activation of that feature once you are clean)
  7. Click on the Scanner ICON at the top of the window
  8. Click on the Settings tab then select Recommended Actions and choose Quarantine
  9. When updating has finished. Close AVG Anti-Spyware.

  10. We will be using this tool in a later step.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
    • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
    • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
    • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
    • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
    • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
    • Login on your usual account.

Read over the following directions. Ask if anything appears unclear to you.

Clean out TEMPORARY FILES procedures:
To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/downloadbuilds.asp

Install Options:
It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

Do not run CCleaner until requested later.

We will be restarting into Safe Mode later on in the fix and you might not be able to access the Internet. Accordingly, it is probably a good idea to print out the following directions or copy them to a text file on your desktop using NOTEPAD. Read these instructions carefully and feel free to ask if you're unsure about anything.

SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
F3 - REG:win.ini: load=C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DLLRUNNING] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfybhgif.dll",setvm
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SHELL] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00003.exe"

Make sure that all browser windows and internet links are closed, even this one!
CLICK ’FIX CHECKED’ with HijackThis.

HIDDEN FILES: To make sure you can see all hidden files, please follow the directions here

SAFEMODE: Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key at restart and choosing 'safe mode' menu option (explained here if needed).

Delete TEMPORARY FILES: Now, use CCleaner to hunt down the most common temporary file locations and the temporary file clutter contained therein (and of possible malware hiding places):

Run CCleaner .

FIRST-TIME USE:
Select the ‘Options’ BUTTON option (top LEFT), ‘Advanced’ BUTTON, and then UNCHECK the ‘Only delete files in Windows Temp Folders older than 48 hours’.

Select the ‘Cleaner’ BUTTON option (top LEFT), if not already selected. Use the ’Windows’ TAB up front by default.
***** Clean out the Recycle Bin for items removed below, ONLY once you have regained the full functional use of your PC.

Navigate to these files or folders using Windows Explorer (OR Start -> Search) and delete (if present):

DELETE FILES:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfybhgif.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00003.exe

POST A REVISED HIJACKTHIS LOG for review:
Reboot and post a new HijackThis log with any feedback as appropriate - how things are now behaving: any new or remaining apparent issues.

    1) i have done what u asked me to do... this is my problem now.. when i restart my computer in safe mode i will go to the login box. after that it asked me if i want to create system restore or not. if i click yes..the whole screen turns black but the computer is still running..if i click no it says you cannot create system restore. so i have skipped this part.....

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
    Login on your usual account.

    2)in this part

SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
    F3 - REG:win.ini: load=C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DLLRUNNING] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfybhgif.dll",setvm
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SHELL] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00003.exe"

    i couldn't find the " F3 - REG:win.ini: load=C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe "

3)after that, when i came to this part

HIDDEN FILES: To make sure you can see all hidden files, please follow the directions here

SAFEMODE: Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key at restart and choosing 'safe mode' menu option (explained here if needed).

i cant go to the safe mode part as stated above to use the ccleaner

    3) finally, when u asked me to delete this file

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00003.exe

    i cant find it

**Ps - everything was done in a normal way like how we are using the computer now. nothing was done in the safe mode way

The continuing rounds of wierd and non-typical behaviour is not very encouraging. If it was my PC I would not have much confidence in it given the severity of the infections that have and potentially continue to plague/impact the machine. This was the stated downside of continuing to try to fix such a seriously compromised PC.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
I'm sorry we can't give information on how to bypass security measures set up on any machine. Seek assistance from a local vendor.

    please see here.
