False msg??? I don't know. But to be safe I deleted the file, then had to manually delete CCleaner & re-install from new download. Ran scan after re-install and found nothing. CCleaner web site does not make it easy to send alert msg or communicate with support personel.

Running WXP Pro SP2 with Earthlink Protection Control service (which discovered the malware) on my DSL line. I've dwnlded PC Doctor and ran system scan: nothing. PC works fine, fast with no glitches. I also dwnlded MS Malware removal tool and ran scan. Nothing. Only problem was 2 days of 'off & on' DSL service due to line problems.

Very few malware definition web sites list this variant. If I truly had this trojan, I have no idea where it came from. I don't visit questionable sites, download games or music...nothing that would put me in danger. The CCleaner forum page does have some posts questioning this same malware alert, but CCleaner webmasters seem to ignore it.

Have others experienced this variant? Have I done all I can to make sure it's gone?

I also use ccleaner but never had that problem, if you want to post a hiajckthis log and one of us will take a look.
