    Welcome,

This needs to go now if in add/remove program:

    bet365 Poker

Reboot if found and removed, let me know please if found.

Have you considered removeing the windows media 11 and installing version 9 or 10 after all avenues are done to clean your computer.

Sometimes malware hides from hijackthis.exe so I need you to find hijackthis.exe and right click and rename it to foolyou.exe and then press enter and post a log from the newly renamed hijackthis.exe

    Thanks.

    Also...

To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

    CCleaner

Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.
It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

    Uncheck cookies

    Before first use:
    Select Options then Advanced.
UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"

Click on CCleaner to start it. Then click "Run Cleaner", just use the windows tab up front by default.

    Then Reboot (Exit)

Firstly, thanks for the reply, most appreciated!

The pc seems to be back running fine again now.

Noticed yesterday that after I upgraded windows media player, a suspect file had appeared in my documents I think it was? anyway........ the file was a mumbo jumbo of letters and numbers, so I put the file name in google, and to my surprise a lot of people were having the same problem, one poster said to just delete it so I did.

The pc was still running slow, so i downloaded AVG and did a scan, it came back showing no problems, I ran adaware it picked up some problems so I deleted those.

then later that evening the pc started running something like it did before.

Anyway I followed your instructions and deleted the program you said, and downloaded the clean up program as per your instructions.

Glad to say the pc is now running as good as before if not better!

    So many thanks again!

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
That is good news but you should not have two anti-virus programs runnng at the same time as that will cause slow downs and reduce the effectiveness of both programs as they fight to take over.
