Angry Explaining Spyware 4 A Dummy!!

I ran spy sweeper for MSN tonight on my computer and I had 6 spy cookies show up, they were as follows:

    Tribalfusion cookie
    burstbeacon cookie
    redzip cookie
    upspiral cookie
    adserver cookie
    zedo cookie

What are these and what do they do?

Do they mean someone was spying on my computer? If so and they have been put into quarenteen, are they no longer able to spy on me? Also, is there a way for me to find out who put them there and to prove this?

    Please help.
    DJ

    Welcome,

Cookies are a low risk thing, they kind of keep track of what you are doing on a web site.

A Tracking Cookie is any cookie used for tracking users' surfing habits. Tracking Cookies are a form of Tracking Technology. They are typically used by advertisers wishing to analyze and mange advertising data, but they may be used to profile and track user activity more closely. However, tracking cookies are far more limited in their ability to track users than software that is actually installed on users' computers
