    kernel32.dll and shell32.dll "change"...

    Hello,

I just scanned my laptop using AVG free edition, and found this:

it shows that kernel32.dll and shell32.dll have been "changed"...though all other files and registery files show the status "OK"...I have never seen this before and wondered if it was anything bad...I recently dropped my laptop on the floor off my desk and am hoping it has nothing to do with that! Any help with this is appreciated...

    Thanks

Your issue seems to a fairly common occurance that is mostly unuseful to an end-user. It appears to happen most often when critical updates and other 'patches' are installed. Then you are somehow left to make a connection between recent changes and those updates. Most users can only be expected to make sense of this when something is clearly infected or compromised. The change notification appears to flag any recent events that might be responsible for any current issues that you might be experiencing, if any. You still are left wondering whether such changes were unnecessay or bad.
