ve i done what you asked correctly?
i'm still having the problems
Never fix the 010s with HJT, you will break the Internet connection.
If someone has already done this, (the 010 will say - Broken Internet access because NewNet xxxxxx.dll is missing) you can often restore it with
WinsockXPFix (WinXP only):
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
Please download LSP-Fix from the following link and save it to a location you can find later if necessary – DESKTOP (or to another PC).
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lspfix.php
If you cannot connect to the Internet after removing New.net (below), please run the LSP-Fix program that you download earlier, and click on the finish button. Reboot and you should be able to get back on.
Alternately,
You can try the following fix tool, if necessary:
WinsockXPFix (WinXP only):
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
NEWDOTNET Removal: Open the Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs list and remove any found entries for:
‘New.net domains’ (B variant) such as NewDotNet,
‘FirstLook’ (FirstLook variant),
QuickSearch Toolbar’ (QuickSearch variant).
If the above options are unavailable or are ineffective, try looking in the Program Files\NewDotNet folder for an EXE uninstaller:
(* = any additional pattern of characters)
*Unins*.EXE; unins*.EXE; Unwise.EXE
(copy and use this exact keywords list in a file search of the relevant FOLDER, if needed)
If more than one uninstaller is present, try the installer with the highest version number in its name.
If an uninstaller is not found, follow these instructions:
Click on the following link:
http://www.new.net/support/uninstall6_76.exe.
- Download and save uninstall6_76.exe to Local Disc C
- Click on Start.
- Click on Run.
- In the Open window type, C:\uninstall6_76.exe.
- Click on the OK button.
- After removal, you may be prompted to reboot. Please reboot if not prompted.
See if the following file is still present in the HijackThis log. If it is, please submit the following file to VIRUSTOTAL for their evaluation and feedback. Post any feedback from them:
c:\windows\system32\qopipb.exe
POST A REVISED HIJACKTHIS LOG for review:
Reboot and post a new HijackThis log with any feedback as appropriate - how things are now behaving: any new or remaining apparent issues.
hi i'm still having all the same problems

You are not running HijackThis (HJT) from a desired location. You really need to setup a dedicated folder for HJT items – to avoid horrible clutter and/or potential lost backup issues.
It's best that the HijackThis tool NOT be located in its current location (particularly on your Desktop or in a TEMP folder). This way you can more easily undo any changes if something goes wrong.
- Create a new folder in your C: Drive.
- Name the FOLDER HijackThis (or HJT) such as C:\Program Files\HijackThis or C:\HJT and move the HijackThis.exe file into it.
- Run HJT from there (and revise your shortcut accordingly).
See if the following file is still present in the HijackThis log. If it is, please submit the following file to VIRUSTOTAL for their evaluation and feedback. Post any feedback from them:
c:\windows\system32\qopipb.exe
Did you do the above requested step. That file is probably bad but I can't know for sure. Also if you don't what the following file is for (let me know), also submit it to VIRUSTOTAL http://www.virustotal.com/ :
C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Application Data\My-disgo\MyKey disgo.exe
The start page reset also appears to be iffy. Might consider removing that line in HijackThis:
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=file://C:\APPS\IE\offline\uk.htm
If still not sure, suggest you rename each of the above files with an easily found prefix such as your initials plus underscore character (in my example vop_ = vop_qopipb.exe, etc.). Thereafter, you can always find your files with the EXACT search string LIKE vop_*.
Post a new HijackThis log and tell me how things are now behaving.
My Disco is a memory stick program
I have completed a full search for c:\windows\system32\qopipb.exe. i am unable tofind it!
Please forgive me if at any time I sounded like I knew What i am doing .Ionly understand half of what you are telling me, and am not able to do what you are telling me to do.
hours of head scratching, and loads of dialogue boxes later i'm still in the same situation! e.g ready to throw the thing through the window ! I have MSN if this helps?????
I do not wish to sound ungreatful but I need better help / some one to do it for me. Is this posible? thanks steve
If you mean, can someone dial into your PC and do the needed fixes - NO. That has its own complications/logistcal issues as well as not necessarily being very workable when numerous rebooting steps are needed, etc.I need better help / some one to do it for me. Is this posible?
Follow along as best you can or try to get someone or friend to come to your location to assist you. Frustration is not your friend - persistence is. If I gave in to frustration, I certainly wouldn't be doing this anymore online. Some situations can take 20-30 posts to resolve when communications and other difficulties arise. If you want to avoid this, take your PC to a shop or friend and have them backup your critical user files and do a clean install - end of problem.
Did you revise the location of the HijackThis LOG?
Try the following step and then look for the suspect file again:
HIDDEN FILES: To make sure you can see all hidden files, please follow the directions here
TIP: Copy and paste the complete line item below into the find box:
c:\windows\system32\qopipb.exe
