Hello, my browser fails to load {page cannot be displayed} and at times runs very slow. I have dsl and it says I'm connected. After about 5 minutes at idle it does this. I turned hibernation off. I ran the tutorial on ad-aware. Ran cc cleaner and mcafee. Been going on for a month.

That problem may not be malware related but we shall see.



Create a folder such as C:\HJT or C:\Program Files\HJT and move HJT.exe into the newly created folder so we can have avaiable backups in case you fix the wrong thing or I make a mistake. Very important.


If you can try downloading and installing firefox browser and see if it does the same with that.

To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

CCleaner

Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.
It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

Before first use:
Select Options then Advanced.
UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"

Click on CCleaner to start it. Then click "Run Cleaner", just use the windows tab up front by default.


Then Reboot (Exit)




Open Hijackthis.

Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.

Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.

Click the "Save list..." Button.

Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

What am I to create? Not all that computer smart. Copy my program files?

Delete the hijackthis program you have now and...


Go here http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread.php?t=32403

Download and install hijackthis from that location and it will install to the right place by itsself.


Did you do CCleaner?

Please post the uninstall list also.

Open Hijackthis.

Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.

Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.

Click the "Save list..." Button.

Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Download and install
Ewido anti-spyware
4.0 (uninstall any previous version first).

• Click the Download BUTTON. On the next page click the
  Download now BUTTON.
• Save and then install (Run) from the save location.
  
• Open/Run ewido anti-spyware
  
• Wait a few moments and Ewido should Auto update itself (note date of last
  update). If it doesn't update, click the update ICON at top of

• Click on the Update now LINK at the top of the window
  • Click on the Start update button
  • Wait for the update to download and install
