Hey there in D-A-L land how goes it, hope all is well.
I am having some issues with my pc. I have a brand new DELL laptop, XP media centre fully updated, Norton antivirus fully updated an active. However, my IE keeps freezing and i have to ctrl+alt+del to close it out. Even when I do that it takes a while and when the problem window closes, it automatically close all other IE windows that were open, not just the one I selected. When I shut down I get a message saying 'IE not responding' click 'END NOW' or wait.
I ran all the ANTIspy tools I have....AdawareSE, Spybot S&D , Yahoo ANTIspy and one supplied with my ISP. Immediately after i reboot it is ok, later on in the day it slows down abit again and the freezing continues.
I thought it was a limewire program I had and uninstalled it. The problem reduced somewhat but it still happens. I have posted my hijackthis logfile below for you to take a look at and give me some insight.
Another qu, all my other friends have limewire and it runs ok on their pc, is it safe for me to reinstall it?

Potentially, the last two (2) may both be real-time monitors and interveners which could conflict or (subtly and/or gradually) interfere with each other. Suggest you investigate by disabling or uninstalling one or both tools.




Additionally, have you recently cleaned out your TEMP files. This may help to make running processes more reliable:

Install Options:

• Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!
• Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.

It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

Select the ‘Cleaner’ BUTTON option (top LEFT), if not already selected. Use the ’Windows’ TAB up front by default.

• Uncheck ‘Cookies’ option (advisable)
• Optionally, Uncheck ‘Recently Typed URLs’ option (potentially still useful)
• Click the ‘Analyse’ button.
• Thereafter, click ‘Run Cleaner’ after you have reviewed what it proposes to clean.
