Reboot into safe mode and delete these folders:/as you are rebooting start tapping F8 key until a menu appears and select safe mode and press enter

c:\program files\common files\SearchUpgrader
c:\program files\Need2Find
c:\windows\cdmxtras

Reboot

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note:In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.

Save it to your desktop.
Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
Select
- "Delete on Reboot
- Then click on either the "All Files" button if there is more than 1 item to Delete.
Please copy the file path(s) below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C

The trial master file is ok. I sometimes need to work from home.

I have finished all the steps as you instructed.

Re-hide after we are done

Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Run hijackthis and click on scan button and put a check next to this:

Still in safe mode hunt for and delete this folder:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\MMSASS~1---your guess is as good as mine as to what the whole folder name is.

I didn't find MMSASS~1.dll under program files. I have checked every folder under program files, but no such file. I also didn't find MMSASS~1 in MMSSearch folder.

I couldn't find that file in safe mode or in normal mode. I even tried to find it using windows file search. no luck.

The file is not there but the folder may be. Have you looked for that?

Did you fix that entry in HJT while in safe mode? If so did you click fix checked?
