Here is the latest scan... I have run Crap cleaner and a more indepth Adaware scan. However, I still cannot load several programs, IE Symantic AntiVirus. Additionally, I can't seem to get rid of: doubleclick.net, mediaplex.com, and tribalfusion.com data miners.

Can anyone direct me in the right direction?

Download the following tools to another PC if necessary.

    Download deldomains:
    http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf
When you click on the link, select Save. Save it to your desktop. Once on the desktop: It appears as an icon that looks like a notebook tablet with a gear overlaid on it.

To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

Note: Because this will remove all entries in both the Trusted Zone and the Restricted Zone, any program, tool, or settings that were previously used to set restrictions will need to be reset:
Examples: (if these are being used),
    • Spybot's "Immunize" feature is affected, you will need to re-immunize
    • SpywareBlaster's "Enable all protection" feature will have to be re-enabled
    • IE-SPYADS will have to be reinstalled

    Get hoster here:
    http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip
    • Unzip it to a convenient place and run the program.
    • If you see in the top BOX (Editing Tools) ‘Your Hosts file is editable’ then press the ‘Restore Microsoft’s Original Hosts File’ button (in the Backup and Restore Tools BOX) and OK.
    • If you see red text (‘Hosts file is marked as read only’) then press the ‘Make Hosts Writeable’ button - then the Restore Original Hosts button and OK.
    • Close the program.

after installing "DelDomains" was I supposed to see anything happen? My computer thought for a moment, and then that was it... Was that what was supposed to happen?

I ran the Hoster program, and restored the original host files. However, I am still having difficulties.

I need to update 2000 with service pack 4, but I keep getting the error message:
"the system can not find the file specified"
Is this related to the spyware infection that I have?

    Thanks.

Is it possible to completely eradicate the spyware on my computer? I keep getting the same crap after each scan. All I do is log on to the net and wham-o I activate anyware from 4 to 10 trackers. This isn't even counting the stuff that AdAware and Ewido miss. This is extreamly anoying. Appreciate your help.

There are no problems evident in your HijackThis log.

after installing "DelDomains" was I supposed to see anything happen? My computer thought for a moment, and then that was it... Was that what was supposed to happen?
That is all there is - to deal with possible redirects and domain hijacks.

What is your Internet connectivity at this point? Might you be able to install FireFox?:
    • Consider using an alternate free browser for general web surfing but you must use IE for windows updates. The use of Firefox (or similar alternate) mitigates the many types of malware that are now possible when using IE ActiveX based components.
      Mozilla Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

    Also,
    • Consider using a free firewall if you are not already using one (use only one firewall at a time – normally you will need to disable the MS firewall). Some good free ones (for incoming and added outgoing traffic protection) are:
      Kerio Personal Firewall: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm
*** After 30 days, Kerio shuts down selected features, but will continue to run in 'free' mode.
      Zone Alarm: http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/comparison.jsp?lid=ho_za

BLOCKABLE SITES: doubleclick.net, mediaplex.com, and tribalfusion.com data miners
    • A HOSTS file can block Internet access to thousands of known-bad sites by not allowing you any easy browser access to such sites knowingly or unknowingly. Use HJT to determine if a current HOSTS file exists and any contents therein:
      • Run the HiJackThis tool and select ‘Open the Misc Tools section’.
      • Next select ‘Open host file manager’ button.
      • Use the ‘Open in Notepad’ button in XP/W2K or use WORDPAD if necessary [type wordpad.exe in the RUN box (Start>Run)] and load the FILE PATH identified in HJT.
      • Go to http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.txt . # Read the initial instructions #. Copy and paste (append or replace) the RELEVANT host address entry contents of that file into Notepad or Wordpad and save the updated file contents.

Below, please find a copy of my latest HJT log. I would like to clean up a few of the processes, as I don't feel they are benificial to me. Could you please inform me of what I need to do to get rid of these. Greatly appreciate your help.

C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\sdhelp.exe (Tried to delete folder/files, but they were in use, not in programs list)
C:\Program Files\Support.com\bin\tgcmd.exe (No clue what this is for, do I need it?)
C:\WINNT\loadqm.exe (Same, do I need it?)
    C:\WINNT\System32\MSTMON_Q.EXE (Same, ?)

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
Can you run online scans at this point (what working browser(s) are currently available on your PC if any)? Did you implement my suggestion (HOSTS FILE) to help block certain sites? Additionally, a firewall may provide clues as to the source(s) of your problems.
