Are you sure you did what I said with LSPFix? The entry is still in your log. PLEASE DON'T JUST FIX THE ENTRTY, OR ELSE YOU COULD LOSE INTERNET ACCESS. Use LSPFix.

Was sure I had done everything last time but have tried again, by the way nmrtracer.dll was already in the remover section didn't have to use arrows to shift it.

Am unable to reboot at the moment as I am in the middle of downloading sp2 again, have had a friend who runs a computer company in to try and see if he can make sense of the problem, but he was baffled as well. He suggested downloading SP2 as a possibility and that I might eventually have to resort to re-installing windows.

Anyway here is a new copy of the hijack this file without rebooting

Your friend is correct. SP2 replaces a lot of the Windows System files with new copies. Its basically like reinstalling windows. It solved a problem with Windows Installer for me.

I can not see any problems in your log that should be causing such errors. I wish you luck fixing the problem, and if you require any more guidance, don't hesitate to post back.

Ensure that you properly protect your PC as well, have a read of the info in the Hijack This Logs post at the top of this forum.

Back to square one I'm afraid SP2 wouldn't load kept getting as far as "checking product key" and then would whut down with the error message "The system cannot find the file specified"
Looks like it will have to be a re-install of Windows.

Thought I had PC well protected, windows update running automatically, norton updated and run automatically weekly, norton firewall,pop-up eliminator etc just shows you are never fully protected.

Will let you know if re-install works thanks for all your help
