Do I Still Have Problems?; HijackThis Log Included

Hello everyone! I'd first like to say how impressed I was when I first found this site. The assistance and professionalism extended here is truly inspiring. However, I only located this site after I searched for solutions to browser hijacking attempts. I have already eliminated a lot of the spyware that was installed on my computer. I have had more difficulty trying to determine why Spy Sweeper keeps blocking sites such as these from spontaneously loading:www.a-d-w-a-r-e.com
    www.ad-ware.com
    www.ad-w-a-r-e.com etc.
After repeated scans from programs such as Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware, and Spy Sweeper, I have been unable to locate the source of these "websites" and their infinite variations. I also could not find any unwanted additions to my hosts folder. So, I have come to you in my extreme frustration/exasperation! Here is the Hijack This report:

    C:\DOCUME~1\RANDOL~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\HijackThis.exe
You are not running HijackThis (HJT) from a desired location. You really need to setup a dedicated folder for HJT items – to avoid horrible clutter and/or potential lost backup issues.

It's best that the HijackThis tool NOT be located in its current location (particularly on your Desktop or in a TEMP folder). This way you can more easily undo any changes if something goes wrong.
    • Create a new folder in your C: Drive.
    • Name the FOLDER HijackThis (or HJT) such as C:\Program Files\HijackThis or C:\HJT and move the HijackThis.exe file into it.
    • Run HJT from there (and revise your shortcut accordingly).

Please download the latest version of Look2Me-Remover.exe to your desktop.
    http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=7

    * Close all windows before continuing.
    * Double-click Look2Me-Remover.exe to run it.
    * Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
    * You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Remover will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
    * When Look2Me-Remover re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
    * Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
    * You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
    * When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Remover will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
    * Your computer will then shutdown.
    * Turn your computer back on.
    * Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Remover.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the Internet please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.

Potentially, Teatimer and/or Spysweeper may be in a position to interfere with the following additional fixes:

Please disable the following application(s), as it/they may hinder the removal of some entries. Otherwise, certain cleaning attempts may be wrongly recognized and blocked as hijacking attempts or other potentially inappropriate behavior. You can re-enable such tools after your computer is clean.

    Spybot Search & Destroy (Teatimer)

    1) Run Spybot-S&D
    2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
    3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
    4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
    5) Restart your computer.

    Disable SpySweeper
    1. Open it, Click Options over on the left, then Program options
    2. Uncheck load at windows startup.
    3. Over to the left, Click shields and Uncheck all there.
    4. Uncheck home page shield.
    5. Uncheck automatically restore default without notification.
    6. Exit Spysweeper.

SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: FM2rfy - FM2rfy.dll (file missing)

Make sure that all browser windows and internet links are closed, even this one!
    CLICK ’FIX CHECKED’ with HijackThis.

HIDDEN FILES: To make sure you can see all hidden files, please follow the directions here

SAFEMODE: Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key at restart and choosing 'safe mode' menu option (explained here if needed).

Delete TEMPORARY FILES: Now, hunt down the most common temporary file locations and the temporary file clutter contained therein (and of possible malware hiding places):

Go to Start > Run and type: CLEANMGR.EXE and hit enter.
When prompted select the C: drive and click ok.
    Check the boxes for:
    • Temporary Internet Files
    • Downloaded Program Files
    • Recycle Bin
    • Temporary Files
    Click OK or Enter

For additional, more thorough cleaning and for multi-profile user configurations:
(*) Run Clean.bat to clean up your TEMPorary files.

***** Clean out the Recycle Bin for items removed below, ONLY once you have regained the full functional use of your PC.

Navigate to these files or folders using Windows Explorer (OR Start -> Search) and delete (if present):

    DELETE FILES:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\nwinqqez.exe

POST A REVISED HIJACKTHIS LOG for review:
Reboot and post a new HijackThis log with any feedback as appropriate - how things are now behaving: any new or remaining apparent issues.

When I went to remove the items you mentioned during the previous scan, O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BROWSERUPDATESCHED] C:\WINDOWS\system32\nwinqqez.exe GID003 was not present. nwinqqez.exe was also missing from the system32 folder. The only other file starting with "nw" was the hidden system file nwc.cpl.manifest which I left alone.
When I rebooted, I turned off my firewall and started browsing. I came back to the forum and performed some google and yahoo searches without being spontaneously redirected to commercial websites or pop up ads. Offline performance is normal.
