Re: Please help Search sidekick and betterinternet(!
Gentlemen:
I have followed the above adivce. After multiple ewido and ad-aware scans, this is the hjt log.
Ewido and Ad-aware detect E2Give, but will not remove it. I notice there is an automatic removal tool for this progam on the net. Is it reliable?

Please download Look2Me-Remover.exe by Atribune to your desktop.- Close all windows before continuing.
- Double-click Look2Me-Remover.exe to run it.
- Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
- You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Remover will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
- When Look2Me-Remover re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
- You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
- When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Remover will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
- Your computer will then shutdown.
- Turn your computer back on.
- Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Remover.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.
If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new...b/MSWINSCK.OCX
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.
Please download AproposFix from here:
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/aproposfix.exe
Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet.
Then please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Once in Safe Mode, please double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop. Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts.
When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode. Save the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder and post it back here when you come back.
Go to post #2 and do the bruteforce uninstaller fix again as the Qoologic Trojan has came back.
After the above do the below..
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.- Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
- Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
- You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
- When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
- You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
- Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
- When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
- Turn your computer back on.
- Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
I need a new hijackthis log and all relavent logs from above tools thanks.

Hi,
Looking much much better, good job as you were highly infected, very dangerously infected.
It is late and I need some sleep but will be back tomorrow to post more stuff for you to do.
Still some more infections but not as serious as it was. I think we can save your computer.
See ya tomorrow.

I am incredibly greatful for all your help! Unfortunately, whatever is on my computer seems to keep donwloading more crap. I cut off the internet connection, and am posting from another computer. Several Ad-Aware scans indicate E2Give present, and it can not be removed. Here is the latest HJT log:

Mercy me, if this doesn't work this time it may be time to reformat, never seen it keep coming back like this.
Please download E2TakeOut by RubbeR DuckY from here:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/E2TakeOut.zip- Extract the file to your Desktop
- Double click E2TakeOut.exe
- Click the Begin Removal button
- Wait until the program is finished scanning
- Once done, it will produce a popup stating that the infection has been found and you need to reboot you computer to complete the removal
- Reboot your computer
- Once your computer has rebooted E2TakeOut will open and produce a report
- Please copy/paste that report into your next reply
Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK
Click the Extended tab.
Scroll down until you find Windows Overlay Components.
Click once on the service to highlight it.
Click Stop
Right-Click on the service.
Click on 'Properties'
Select the 'General' tab
Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box
From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'
Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'
Next:
Please run HijackThis and click Config -> Misc Tools -> Delete an NT service. In the Delete window, type Windows Overlay Components and press OK. OK any prompts, close HijackThis, and restart your computer.
Download FindQool, extract the files and place the FindQool folder it root, usualy thats C:\
http://downloads.subratam.org/Lon/FindQool.zip
It must be c:\FindQool now to work
Open that folder and run Qlocate.bat, post the text that will open please.
Please download Ewido Anti-Malware- Install Ewido Anti-Malware
- Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
- The program will now open to the main screen.
- When you run Ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.- On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
- Then click on Start Update.
- The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful") - Exit Ewido, do not run the scan yet!
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates
Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "BFU"
Please download Brute Force Uninstaller.
Unzip it to its own folder (c:\BFU)
Next, RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcra Remover. Save it in the folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).
Do not run the Uninstaller and the Remover yet.
Please reboot into Safemode:
Turn on the computer.
Immediately begin tapping the F8 key.
Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode and press the Enter key.
*Click on Ewido>Scanner
Then select "Settings"
Under the bottom section "What to Scan?" make sure "Scan every file" is checked.
Select "OK" and you will return to scanning options.
*Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
This scan can take quite a while to run, so please be patient .
While the scan is in progress, you will be prompted to clean the first infected file it finds. Choose Clean. Then put a check next to 'Perform action on all infections' . Doing this, enables the scan to proceed automatically until its completion. Click OK
When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file.
** Make sure you know where to find this file again. The best place to save it would probably be your Desktop.
Now close Ewido Anti Malware.
Open My Computer and navigate to the c:\BFU folder. Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon and select alcanshorty.bfu
Press execute and let it do its job.
Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
Please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check the following:

Well looks much better so far.
Sun java is out of date and needs to be updated now as it is a security issue.
* Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
* Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
It should have next icon next to it:
Select it and click Remove.
* Then Download and install the newest version from here:
Sun Java
Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and look for PuritySCAN By OIN, , OIN or similar or clickspring, also uninstall if present ZENO , click on it and click remove.
If not listed, download and run this uninstaller:
http://www.outerinfo.com/OiUninstaller.exe
Tutorial for the uninstaller if needed
Reboot when done and delete this folder if found:
C:\Program Files\PurityScan
Post a new HJT log
