HJT is in the wrong place in case we need available backups, I should of seen that sooner, so...



Create a folder such as C:\HJT or C:\Program Files\HJT and move HJT.exe into the newly created folder so we can have avaiable backups in case you fix the wrong thing or I make a mistake. Very important.


Then run hijackthis and click on scan button and put checks next to these:

Nothing open but hijackthis and click on fix checked


Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.


Navigate to these files or folders using Windows Explorer (OR Start -> Search) and delete (if present):



DELETE FOLDERS

C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3


Reboot normal mode and...

CCleaner

Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.
It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.
Click on CCleaner to start it. Then click "Run Cleaner", just use the windows tab up front by default.

Then Reboot (Exit)


How is she behaving now?

Hi Neal did as you suggested. Then I tried running spybot S&D and pc swiched off after about 2 minutes. So where do we go now?

Well that is bad news alright maybe it is time to consider reformatting your computer. We can't kill what we can not see.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
- Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
o Scan Options:
- Scan Archives
- Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
*Now under select a target to scan:
o Select My Computer
* This program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
o Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
* Copy and paste that information in your next post.
