kavsvc.exe(RESOLVED)

Good morning,

I have Kaspersky AntiVirus running on my computer. However, this morning on startup I got the 'Your computer might be at risk. Your antivirus is out of date' alert. When I tried to start Kaspersky manually I got the following error : 'Kaspersky has already been started by another user', however there is no trace of the program running. In the Task Manager there is a service running kavsvc.exe, which is taking 50% of my CPU! I tried to stop this but it is telling me access denied all the time. I removed Kaspersky from the startup through the msconfig option, but it is starting just the same with each reboot. Could this be a virus or spyware?

Hi,

Thanks very much for your reply. In fact I did what was in the link you provided this afternoon. Problem has been solved, ok. Spybot removed a lot of spyware, but I managed to remove the kavsvs.exe only from the HJT. Thanks very much again for all your help.
