HJT Log, Please Help(RESOLVED)

I've been trying to figure this out on my own all day, but am finally giving in and posting for help.

My AVG found a virus, which I was able to get rid of, but in the process I've come across another problem. If I may, I'm going to post my current scan logs from both Kaspersky and Hijack This.

First, here is what Kaspersky is telling me I have:

I tried turning off my System Restore and rerunning the scan in Safe Mode, but I can't access the Internet that way. So now I'm not sure how to get rid of it, and I've searched all day.

Lastly, I have also run ATF today, as well.

Quite honestly, I'm amazed at all that I found today that's gone undetected by my Spybot/Ad-Aware/AVG programs. If I can get rid of this last infection, I will be happy!

Welcome to DAL,

You really should not do anything with system restore until the very last thing to do.

Is it on or off?

If off you will need to leave it off for now, if on leave it on please.

Is this below something you want?

Disable SpywareGuard by right clicking the icon down by the clock and select "exit".

Next,
Download the Intermute stand-alone version of CWShredder from here: cwshredder.net/bin/CWShredder.exe
Install it and check for updates then exit, we will use it later.

To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

CCleaner

Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.
It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.
Click on CCleaner to start it. Then click "Run Cleaner", just use the windows tab up front by default.

Then Reboot (Exit)

Run hijackthis and click on scan button and put checks next to these:

Make sure nothing is open but hijackthis and click on "fix checked"

Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Now run CWShredder and click on "fix".

Navigate to these files or folders using Windows Explorer (OR Start -> Search) and delete (if present):

DELETE FILES:

C:\WINDOWS\chp.dll

Reboot and post a new hijackthis log please.

System Restore was off, so I left it off.

I followed your instructions, and CWShredder came up Clean.

The Clackhouse entry is fine, it's my IE homepage.

The \chp.dll file was found and deleted.

Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

- "Delete on Reboot
- Then click on either the "All Files" button if there is more than 1 item to Delete.
Please copy the file path(s) below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C

C:\WINDOWS\chp.dll
Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

I do like the Desktop Weather. It gives me an overview of the next few days when I log on, and it's nice to get a quick glimpse of the temperature outside by looking at the tray. I'm not a huge weather buff, but this is the handiest program I've come across so far.

Is a real pain in the you know what, so let's see if we can sneak in thru the backdoor I'll put my foot on it's neck and you kill it.

Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

O18 - Filter hijack: application/octet-stream - {6585E5B4-4D2A-4A1D-A219-4102C64BA999} - C:\WINDOWS\chp.dll

Exit HijackThis when done. Reboot, rescan with HijackThis and check if it is still there.

If so, click Here to download O18fix.zip. Extract O18fix.reg from the zip file and save it to the desktop. When done, doubleclick the O18fix.reg and when asked to merge say yes.

Reboot once more, rescan with HijackThis and post a new log here.

Did hijackthis take care of that 018 or did you have to use the 018fix?

Let's do an online scan and see what BitDefender finds.

Go here http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html and run an online scan with BitDefender (you will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan). When the ActiveX Control has loaded, click on "Click here to scan" and grab a coffee.

When BitDefender completes the scan, select the "Detected Problems" tab. Click on "Click here to export scan". Save the file as an HTML to your Desktop. Then click on the saved file and allow it to open with your browser. Go to Edit - Select All then copy/paste that log back here. Post back and let us know what it found (post the log).

And post a new HJT log also..
