Hi almost done I think.


Now, please go to:

Click Start then Run

In the box type in services.msc then hit < Enter > (or click OK)

Scroll down in that list and look if the following service is present:

Userinit Logon Verification (UsrInitVerif)


Doubleclick on the service. In the window that will appear, click on "Stop" (if not greyed out) and change the Startup Type to disabled.
Click apply and OK and close all open windows.


Play around a little bit and let me know how your computer is acting after the above. I'm positive it is bad but never hurts to be cautious.

Just because it says file is missing doesn't mean it actually is missing.


That file-userinit.exe should be running from the system32 folder and not directly from the Windows folder.


If everything seems ok after disableing(Surf around a little bit) let's delete it.


Run HijackThis -> config -> misc tools -> delete an NT service
In the box, type or copy/paste : Userinit Logon Verification
