    Smile Trap Monitor and W2K

My friends laptop which ran the card fine uses WXP as OS. I do not know what Trap Monitor is? Was that in my Hijack This log? I guess I can Google for it?! Any ideas?

    THANK YOU!

There are two (2) hijackthis entries related to a Panasonic device (fax/modem or printer?):

    http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...G=Search&meta=

    O4 - Global Startup: Panasonic Communications Utility.lnk = C:\Program Files\Panasonic\Panasonic-DMS\Port Controller\Mfpscdl.exe
    O23 - Service: Panasonic Trap Monitor Service - Panasonic - C:\Program Files\Panasonic\TrapMonitor\Trapmnnt.exe

The first file for Panasonic is related to a print driver program used at my office to network to the fax-scanner-copier there. It should be okay. The one I am not sure about, which did not show as a threat when I searched, was Trapmonitor file. I did notice the file appeared on other people's Hijack This logs on forums I viewed searching for info on that program file.

Think I should kill it? If yes, then what is the best way to do this?! THANK YOU!

Okay, I am not sure if the problem is fixed, but I removed a program file for Avery Design Limited Edition 5.0 (Under Avery Dennison). I currently use 4.0 version from CD, and trust that one. Anyway, I think I have been online for 45 minutes now without dropping connection. But at the same time, the CMPnC.exe error flagged again, too. I do not think that has anything to do with it, however. Since it was doing that when connection was dropping all the time! I am scared to restart! I do not want to have the dropped connection problem return!

I will wait to see if you have any further advice?! THANKS!

Okay, I restarted just to see what would happen. Back to same old problem, and I wish I knew why it let me stay connected for 45 minutes before restarting. All I really did was dump the Avery Dennison program file. I thought I finally got it, but I suppose not!

    Shucks!

Here is my latest Hijack This log after removing some program files and things I thought might fix the problem. Earlier today I got 45 minutes out of the connection time, and I have not seen that since this began.

I am back to the same old crap now however. If it does not go away for good, then I suppose I will have to backup programs and files, wipe the hard drive and start all over (as a friend who has helped me clean things up suggested I might have to do).

Any furhter advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Sprint Connection History (Partial)... See times notice the connection from 11:45 - 12:30. That is a miracle I guess, since I am back to being booted every 15 minutes again for some reason.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
Both Panasonic files check out legit.

Please confirm that the sprint card worked properly before the current issues. Was anything in the WIFI access point changed recently? Or has anything else changed since the problems with malware?

Did you try to uninstall and/or reinstall the sprint drivers?

You may want to refocus your attention on the suggestions in post #2 if relevant to your circumstances.

Consider raising your issues in the Firewalls and Networks Forum for a broader based assessment of the issues and possible options - link to this thread to show what has been considered to this point:
