hi everyone. the problems that i am having are my when surfing the internet or just trying to use my internet it all of a suddens stops working nothing works with internet and have the time nothing works anyway,, also when trying to use any virus or spyware protection my computer reboots..... and also if there is anyway anyone can tell me how to successfully remove the running process vsmon.exe that would be helpfull to thanks, and here is my hijackthis log.

You appear to be running two (2) firewalls and two (2) antivirus tools or leftover remnants thereof:
Norton AntiVirus Firewall Monitor Service

You should only be running one of each or there will be problems likely similar to that being observed. Disable or uninstall one tool in each category.



Vsmon.exe is a 'ZoneAlarm' process. Did you properly uninstall it in 'Add/Remove Programs' in Control Panel? It may also be necessary to reinstall it in order to properly uninstall such a tool.

hmm i thought I uninstalled both Norton AntiVirus Firewall Monitor Service
ZoneAlarm Firewall i didnt even know they where still on my computer i remember having some problems with nortons last year and uninstalled it...

would hijackthis remove it or should i try something else cause in add remove programs when i try to fully uninstall either one of them the window blinks real fast and goes back to normal it wont let me uninstall it and im the admin...

In the next steps we are going to try and stop several Services.

Click Start then Run
Type in services.msc
Click Ok

Scroll down, locate if possible, and double click on the (bracket named) service called

Norton AntiVirus Firewall Monitor Service (NPFMntor)
TrueVector Internet Monitor (vsmon)

Click Stop and then set the Startup Type to Disabled.



Post a revised HijackThis log and tell us if there is any noticable improvement.




I also notice that you are running Spysweeper and SpySpotter. Their real-time processes might conflict with each other - try disabling one and see if that makes a difference.



Disable SpySweeper

1. Open it, Click Options over on the left, then Program options
2. Uncheck load at windows startup.
3. Over to the left, Click shields and Uncheck all there.
4. Uncheck home page shield.
5. Uncheck automatically restore default without notification.
6. Exit Spysweeper.

Thanks everything worked except the Truevector Interntet Monitor the button for stopping it will not allow me to do so and when I try to disable it it says access is denied. here is my hijackthis log.

See if these steps help remove the remaining ZoneAlarm components:

Try to end the vsmon.exe running process (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) in 'Task Manager'. Try stopping the service again.

Finally I managed to remove vsmon.exe successfully after reading a bit off the site that you refered me to i started thinking if i was admin or not then i remembered some time ago when i had to fix my computer and logged into safe mode on admin, so what i did was just logged into my system in safe mode under admin and fixed the problem... (man i cant believe that was all i had to do) also I deleted all the programs that where a problem but i have one more question I checked in control panel and looked at my users and the only one i have active is my personal one it didnt say anything about admin,, how do i log onto admin without it being safe mode??
