Help with internet probs please

Hi jack this log - Help with internet probs please
Working on brothers family computer.
they are having problems when connected to the internet with accessing sites which require you to enter a username and password.
When trying to log on to MSN/ebay/yahoomail etc direct from websites goes to Page cannot be displayed etc....
When trying to log into Msn messenger from destop, signing in box appears but there is a time delay between typing and the details appearing in the messenger box, also the mouse pointer dissappears temporarily when run over the open messenger window.
Have checked all internet setting and can't see a problem - they had loads of spyware!! but I have downloaded spybot and they already had adaware (although I don't think it had been run in ages - gave them a into trouble) Have run both and also installed AVG but still not getting access to these websites.
Could someone have a look at the hiJack this log and see if anything is showing there that could be causing the problem. - Thanks

Hi and welcome to DAL,
Step 1:
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.
Please download AproposFix from here:
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/aproposfix.exe
Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet.
Then please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Once in Safe Mode, please double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop. Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts.
When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder.
Step 2:
Please download, install, and update the NEW free version of Ewido trojan scanner:
[*]When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
[*]When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
[*]From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
[*]After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
[*]Click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run.
[*]If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. We have been finding some cases of false positives with the new version of Ewido, so we need to step through the fixes one-by-one. If Ewido finds something that you KNOW is legitimate (for example, parts of AVG Antivirus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk" have been flagged), select "none" as the action. DO NOT check "Perform action with all infections". If you are unsure of an entry, select "none" for the time being. I'll see that in the log you will post later and let you know if ewido needs to be run again.
[*]When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again.
Post the log Ewido makes back here please.
I need a new hijackthis log
I need log from Aproposfix log
I need log from Ewido
Thanks.

HI,
Go into add/remove program and remove:(IF FOUND)
Lime Wire
MessengerPlus3---if you installed with sponsors
Safe Surfing
EQBranch
game spy arcade
Go here to learn how to show hidden files/folders:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html#5
Re-hide after we are done
Download Clean.bat to your desktop(Save page as or Save as): for later use to clean out your TEMPORARY and PREFETCH files.
http://www.thatcomputerguy.us/downloads/clean.bat
Please download Brute Force Uninstaller.
Unzip it to it’s own folder (c:\BFU)
RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcra Remover. Save it in the folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).
Open My Computer and navigate to the c:\BFU folder. Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
In the scriptline to execute field copy and paste c:\bfu\alcanshorty.bfu
Press execute and let it do it’s job.
Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
Run hijackthis and put checks next to these:

Close all open windows and click Fix Checked.
Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.
Hunt for and delete if present:
C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3 < folder--If installed with sponsors
C:\WINDOWS\CheckS02.exe < file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\pshwr.exe < file
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows\mc-110-12-0000122.exe < file
C:\Program Files\EQBranch < folder
C:\Program Files\LimeWire < folder
Now run that clean batch file you created earlier, type in 'Y' a couple of times and press enter each time you type in "Y" until black box disappears.
Then:
Go to Start > Run and type: CLEANMGR.EXE and hit enter.
When prompted select the C: drive and click ok.
Check the boxes for:

Recycle Bin
Temporary Files
Click OK or Enter
Reboot
Make sure you are set to normal startup. Click Start -> Run -> Type Msconfig -> Press Enter -> make sure Startup is set to Normal Start
Post a new HJT log for further review

Hi Neal,
Have not gone any further with your last instructions as I had originally called Ntl who are service providers to see if they could also help, they got back to me this morning and we went through a few steps by entering a web address in run which took me to a page called fortify and through this reset the internet security settings - can now access all websites.
Are there still issues within the logs that need to be dealt with that I should continue with your last instructions?
What do you recommend
thanks a million

If a new hijackthis log corresponds with the last one there is lots to do.
Your choice.

Hi Neal,
