Angry Part II of attempt to access invalid address

    Hi everyone:

It seems that in looking for a cure to a new problem, it's led me to ask, and find out about an older problem.

1st I had the problem of trying to find out why I could no longer install older DOS based programs into WinXP Pro, without getting the pop-up that said -- "ATTEMPT TO ACCESS INVALID ADDRESS".

So far I've done everything suggested,
    • Ran compatibility Wizard
    • changed back from NTFS to FAT32 Using Partition Magic
    • Ran antivirus software (spyware Dr. & Norton AV)

Still I can't install older software that used to work fine on my Win98SE.
but during the last time I ran my Spyware Doctor is said for me to go to the makers website to get their latest antivirus info. I found out then, that I must have whatever Malware, or spyware bug that it is, that doesnt allow me to go the more popular Anti-Virus
    Software websites...
I put www.pctools.com into my browser, and wound up at that old Microsoft Webpage, that says there is no such address. Same with Symantec.

does anyone know what I can do to get rid of this virus that doesn't allow me to get to the websites of popular antivirus software makers?

Also, if you want to know more about my original problem of always getting the pop-up that says: -- "ATTEMPT TO ACCESS INVALID ADDRESS" and try to help me with my original problem you can read up on everything I know about it on:

but 1st how can get rid of the bug thats blocking out the more well known antivirus software websites?

    Thanks
