Still no luck. My clipboard is fine - passed the test.

It seems delete on reboot is an issue for me.

Killbox prompts me if I choose something other than "delete on reboot" - o/w no response.

Hijack This - The delete on reboot button is inactive i.e grayed out! I have no idea how to deal with that.

Another thing worth mentioning is that when I use search - I can't find either of those files. Is it really likely I have them or more likely I just have a leftover reference in the registry from when I used to have them?

Do you think its possible we are taking this to an extreme? Neal seemed satisfied, although I have to admit IE just crashed on me last night. Thanks.

This is all very strange (Killbox does and should here work in WinME - e.g. http://castlecops.com/postt88881.html). The "delete on reboot" appears to have been blocked by rogue processes, somehow.

It is possible that those 'downloaded' files are probably being re-initialize from unknown and unwanted processes and then no direct traces of its presence are left behind for us to find or notice.

Activescan Pro is a $20 a year service that should be able to watch for and delete what the free version finds (and their calling apps or trigger points - likely from the registry). It is up to you to decide what to do if your problems continue.

Thanks VopThis. I appreciate everything. I guess we can let the mods close this. Thanks Again.
