Hey I've got virtumonde and no programs can seem to get rid of it automatically...here's my log.

Download & run FixVundo [it MUST be version 1.3.1 (or later) for the fix to work] from

• # Close all running programs (including your Internet Browser).
  
• # Locate the file that you just downloaded.
• # Double-click the FixVundo.exe file to start the removal tool. Look for the version number: Be sure it's at least V1.3.1 .
• # Click Start to begin the process, and then allow the tool to run.
  
  Important: Do not launch any new applications while the tool is running!
  
• # Restart the computer.
• # Run the removal tool again to ensure that the system is clean.

Post a revised HJT log and tell us if your PC is now behaving better.

ok...the program claims it removed virtumonde but microsoft antispyware says i've still got it. Here's the new log.

Copy these instructions to a file on your desktop.


HIDDEN FILES: To make sure you can see all hidden files, please follow the directions here

SAFEMODE: Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key at restart and choosing 'safe mode' menu option (explained here if needed).



Go to the command prompt (Start>Run>type CMD and hit ENTER key. Copy the following command string lines (one at a time) to that box (use right click to paste) and hit the ENTER key:


DIR C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvvs.* > vundojunk.txt
DIR C:\WINDOWS\system32\SVVWA.* >> vundojunk.txt
NOTEPAD.EXE vundojunk.txt


Try running FixVundo again in safemode.
Delete all files listed in the vundojunk.txt file.


REBOOT.

hhmmm...when I try to reboot in safe mode, i log on my user (which is an administrator) and i get a quick message with the option to select yes or no. The box dissapears before I can read it. The computer then freezes up or just stays with the black safe mode screen. I haven't been able to do anything instructed in the last post...do u know anything about this?
