    Hi and welcome to DAL,

To run this Trojan scanner below please run it from safe mode explained below:

Reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner: www.ewido.net/en/download/

    1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

    2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.

    3. From the main ewido screen, click on UPDATE in the left menu, then click the Start update button.

    4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run.

    5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.

    6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.

Make sure you are set to normal startup. Click Start -> Run -> Type Msconfig -> Press Enter -> make sure Startup is set to Normal.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

    Hi,

Lots to do yet, you have the Alcan worm and can be a real booger to get rid of so let's prepare for battle.

Go into add/remove program and remove:(IF FOUND)

    winupdates
    SurfAccuracy

    Reboot if anything was removed

Make sure you can see hidden files/folders
    In Windows XP
    Click Start.
    Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    Click Yes to confirm.
    Click OK.

    Download the Killbox.
    Unzip it to the desktop

Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

    Double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

    Select "Delete on Reboot".
Place the following line C:\Program Files\MsMovies\MsMovies.exe in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox:

Put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot"
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button looks like a stop sign. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

    Reboot normal mode

I need you to submit file(s) to see if it(they) are infected or legit:--http://virusscan.jotti.org/

    Files:

    1. C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmwtvv.exe

Scan only with hijackthis and put a check next to these items, there should not be anything showing but HJT and your desktop:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank

    O2 - BHO: CInterfaceObj Object - {58F07DD3-924D-4141-BC74-299F523A95F1} - C:\WINDOWS\pxwma.dll (file missing)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winupdates] C:\Program Files\winupdates\winupdates.exe /auto
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SurfAccuracy] C:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy\SAcc.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MsMovies] C:\Program Files\MsMovies\MsMovies.exe /auto
---may not be there after the above

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [secure] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmwtvv.exe---fix this ONLY if the above scanner says it is bad

    O18 - Filter: text/html - {3551784B-E99A-474f-B782-3EC814442918} - (no file)

Again make sure there is not anything else open but but HJT and click fix checked

Now reboot back into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Hunt for and delete these please:

    C:\Program Files\winupdates < folder
    C:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy < folder
    C:\Program Files\MsMovies < folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmwtvv.exe < file---delete ONLY if above scanner says it is bad

Reboot normal mode and post a new HJT log please. Thanks

    Welcome back,

Log is looking good only one hijackthis entry has me concerned and it is this:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [secure] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmwtvv.exe

What I need you to do is submit that file to a scanner that uses 10 different scanners to determine if it is bad or OK.

I need you to submit file(s) to see if it(they) are infected or legit:--http://virusscan.jotti.org/

    Files:

    1. C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmwtvv.exe

Please copy/paste scan results for me to take a look at.

"The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file"

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
Try ending the running process in Task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys) and either try re-submitting C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Fmwtvv.exe or make a copy of that file for submission to Jotti.
