Welcome to DAL,
Create a new folder in your C: Drive
Name it C:\HJT or HijackThis and move the HijackThis.exe file in it.
It's best for this tool NOT TO be located in your Desktop or in a TEMP folder.
This way you can undo any changes if something goes wrong
Let's see if we flush some bad guys out:
Lets see what some virus scans can uncover and we will go from there.
Get the stinger here:
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
Download it to another computer if need be, and bring it to the affected computer on floppy disk.
It will kill the top 53 virus files if any are found there
Then switch over to Internet Explorer to do the below scans, make sure IE is set as your default browser please before trying to do the scans. Thanks.
Internet Explorer required
Run these two online virus scanners (Panda Activescan) following these instructions below:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/product..._principal.htm
Internet Explorer required
Also this excellent(BitDefender) scanner:http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
These scans will take an hour or so to run, both online scanners will make a log of what is found please save those and post both logs back here for me to lookm at please.
-
Hello, again.
I did those scanns, the stinger one didn't find anything and these are the logs for the other two

Also I was talking to a friend and he suggested that the crashes maybe hardware related, there maybe problems with the harddrive or mother board or something.
Edit: I wanted to add that my computer hasn't crash in the last couple of days, but it started making noise like it may crash so I post what was there. I thouhgt I should explain the noises too. From inside my computer there was a lot of beeping before it crash the other day, this was while I was playing a game. It also makes the same noise that happens when a floppy disk is read, I hope you know what I mean by this.

Welcome back, sounds like you have an internal problem alright.
Download CCleaner from here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4191.html
or here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner.html
don't run the tool just yet please
Install it. The windows tab should be opened in the upper left of the program. Click analyze and then click run cleaner. Just use the windows tab that is up front by default.
1.Uncheck "Cookies" under "Internet Explorer".
2.If you are running Firefox: ,then click on the "Applications" tab and uncheck "Cookies" under "Firefox".
I need you to submit file(s) to see if it(they) are infected or legit:--http://virusscan.jotti.org/
Files:----let me know the outcome of the single file scanner please.
This one below:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\hlpmoj.dll
Scan with HJT again and put a check next to these items, making sure all browser windows are closed includeing this one so print this or create a new text document on desktop by right clicking an open area select new text document and save it to what ever you like. Now put a check next to these:
O15 - Trusted IP range: 67.19.185.246
O15 - ProtocolDefaults: 'http' protocol is in Trusted Zone, should be Internet Zone
O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52...meInstaller.exe
Again make sure all browser windows are closed and click FIX
Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.
Now run CCleaner useing the windows tab only please
Reboot normal mode and post the results of file scanner and a new HJT log please.

Hi, sorry its take so long to get back to you, I don't want you to think I dont apreciate the help (I'm very gratefull for all the help I've got from here), I'm just snowed under with other stuff at the moment.
When I put C:\WINDOWS\System32\hlpmoj.dll into that website, it said
"The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file"
I tried with my firewall alowing everything through and with my firewall turned off but still got the same response.
(I should of probably said this in the first post, but) Whenever I open a program, AVG pops up with a warning about that file being a trojan horse, but I can't heal, delete or get more info on it, they're all "unavalible for this file" (or something along those lines).
Heres the current HJT log

Thanks for the info, let's turn the dogs loose on it.
Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
3. From the main ewido screen, click on UPDATE in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run.
5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.
Make sure you are set to normal startup. Click Start -> Run -> Type Msconfig -> Press Enter -> make sure Startup is set to Normal.
Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
