    Question Identifying Proccesses

    Hi guys!
You've been a geat help in the past, and I've gotten enough info to handle things myself for a while, but......

My son downloaded some programs, and, you can guess the rest.
Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Norton AntiVirus run. Cleaned out all that they found.
Still getting pop ups, and God knows what else.

before I run Hijack this, I went through the running proccesses, and found two that I can't identify.
Even Google and this forum searches come up blank.

    tszeoxu.exe

    wlugcrb.exe

    Anyone rcognize either of these?
    Thanks!
    Dale

    OK, here's the log.
Note that zozz.exe still shows, although I used Norton tool to remove it. Maybe just a registry?

Although the "zozz" shows up in another place (C:\WINDOWS\prefetch), it's currently not in the file path that you listed. I had ealier today (before posting here) used a Norton tool to remove it.
Norton describes the file as this:

    "Source: C:\Program Files\Vrjv\Zozz.exe
Description: The file C:\Program Files\Vrjv\Zozz.exe is a Adware threat.
Click for more information about this threat : Adware.NetOptimizer.B "

I did a virusscan.jotti on the only "zozz" showing up in a search of my hard drive, results are below:

    Service load: 0% 100%

There were a few files that you wanted deleted that I couldn't find. I assume that they were removed during uninstall that we ran (i.e.:weatherbug), or removed with CCleaner.
I also did not see Instant Access listed in Add/Remove.

    What do you think?
There are only a few that I don't recognize in the log, and I got no popups opening this browser to type this. What an improvement!

Thank you, but you deserve ALL the credit.
I merely inserted tab A into slot B.

    You're directions worked great.

Computer working just fine. Norton Antirus also picked up the following after our work was done here (and after I finally renewed my subscription for updates):

I had been having trouble downloading virus definition updates with Norton. I've been following their directions, but to no avail. i finally manually downloaded the updates, and manually installed.
probably shouldn't have waited to do that. But it looks like I'll have to unistall their updating program, and reinstall. Oh well....

    Thanks again!
And I am interested in those prevention programs that you mention.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
    Hello,

Did Norton delete those things if not look in your add/remove program for any of those that might be there.

Make sure you can see hidden files/folders
    In Windows XP
    Click Start.
    Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    Click Yes to confirm.
    Click OK.
After you're cleaned, please "rehide" them again.

Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

    Then delete these:

    C:\Program Files\CMSystem < folder
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\SSK3_B5.exe < file
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\pdrpdb.dll < file
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qlink32.dll < file
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\nst783.dll < file
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\nahbluff.exe < file
    C:\WINDOWS\pf78.exe < file
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\EGCOMSERVICE_1053.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\dienpun.exe < file

Reboot normal mode and run this Trojan scanner:

Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner: www.ewido.net/en/download/

    1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

    2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.

    3. From the main ewido screen, click on UPDATE in the left menu, then click the Start update button.

    4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run.

    5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.

    6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.

Make sure you are set to normal startup. Click Start -> Run -> Type Msconfig -> Press Enter -> make sure Startup is set to Normal.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
