I recently started uni and so in order to connect to the internet here I had to make some adjustments to my internet settings...ever since I set up the internet here, Ive not been able to update AVG, adaware (error retrieving update) or use the trend micro house call online scanner, as it wont load. it just says "failure of generic host" or something.

Then today I recently got another problem: hotmail freezes internet explorer. I cant read my hotmail...

i dont think these two problems are related because my hotmail only just froze on me today, but this problem with the not being able to update, etc has been going on ever since i had to mess around with my IE and internet settings to set up this damn hallnet service for internet at uni.
