Well, this all started with me noticing some igetnet requests via my firewall which I denied, and then moved on to download the tbouninstaller (or some such nonsense) which was supposed to uninstall the igetnet stuff and fix my PC.
Now, please understand - I monitor my computer very, very carefully, and I work pretty hard almost every day because my computer is shared by three ignorant family members who like to ruin it. *laughs*
Well, imagine my amazement when after having a failed tbouninstaller (it kept trying to change my browser settings, which thanks to Spybot Teatimer I NEVER let happen) and uninstallation failed - locking up my entire computer. I went to reboot into safe mode - and now the entire computer is shot to heck.
I don't know, honestly, what I did to bring about this impasse. I just hope I can get some help.
Everytime I go to use an AntiVirus program/scan (like my AdAware and Spybot) I get a 'corrupted file, please run Chkdsk' error. Its so odd - I never had problems with those file names corrupting before.
Sounds like I might have caught something but I don't honestly know what it is - as I can't sucesfully run any diagnositcs to find out and booting into safe mode leaves me locked in a boot(i)partition screen .... not windows.

PS - I use a Firefox browser (as do all the users of this PC) and something is even corrupting my Kerio firewall settings (which is HIGHLY disturbing!) because the firewall keeps resetting everytime we boot up the PC.
As is not being able to boot into safe mode. *sigh*

Sounds like you are in serious trouble if you can't run any scanners.
Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
If you can download a couple of tools on an uninfected computer then burn to disk and try to run on infected computer, here they are below.

Download it to another computer if need be, and bring it to the affected computer on floppy disk.
It will kill the top 53 virus files if any are found there

Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner: www.ewido.net/en/download/
1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
3. From the main ewido screen, click on UPDATE in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run.
5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.
Make sure you are set to normal startup. Click Start -> Run -> Type Msconfig -> Press Enter -> make sure Startup is set to Normal.
Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
Also let's do some junk cleaning:
Open C:\Windows\Prefetch\ Delete ALL files in this folder.
Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.
Also in safe mode if possible if not do in normal mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.
Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.
Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.
Empty the Recycle Bin
You say other users are useing this computer are they useing your account or do they all have separate accounts?
