I have a friend who is having problems with constant emails from "supportteam@theiraddress.com" and such aliases!!!

Reading forums and such, it sounds as though the "mytob.ee" worm seems to execute these sort of emails... and Norton picks these files up in scan when the emails are downloaded...so i ran a Hijackthis scan and nothing out of the ordinary appeared.

I then downloaded a fixmytob tool off Symantec... this did not find anything!!!

Would anyone be able to suggest where to look to stop these emails coming through... numbers are getting to about 50 a day... and its quiet worrying if it is a worm causing all this aggro lol!!!

I done the scans... and nothing came up!!! The emails are starting to come about every 20 minutes now!!! Is the email address just unlucky and is subject to some random things lol??

Not sure try this and see if the file for that worm is there, maybe not what is happening.

That worm usually shows up as an 04 entry in Hijackthis


Make sure you can see hidden files/folders
In Windows XP
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.
After you're cleaned, please "rehide" them again.
