Limewire
Personally, how safe do you feel Limewire is to use? Legally, I mean, is it still potentailly dangerous?
-
Hello,AlkS14 & Welcome
Well lit me put it this way you are talking about
PC nothing is 100% safe well maybe my PC
as for Limewire i installed it not to long a go &
i'm not one to install this type of stuff.
but a bud of mine said it was a great way to
get some Blues to play on my MP3
but i will say this i would not run this on a PC
with out a Virus scanner & Firewall i also
did not install it to the defult folder
so after installing before you go using it online
goto the settings/Options & make sure to change
the defult folder for your downloads & shared files folder
one thing you said i don't get this here Legally
Found this for you have a look
http://www.methodshop.com/tech/artic...re/index.shtml
it's only as safe as you make it use a FireWall & Virus scanner

Thanks for the help. What about about .exe files?
-
Hey,AlkS14
Again there is an option to scan all downloaded files
but i feel i have to give you a warning.
i ran test downloading exe files for a friend of mine
& of 10 or 12 files all had Trojans/Virus/Spyware
but a lot of the stuff i did find where stuff like
keyloggers hooks .Dll input's
so what i am tilling you is this if you don't know
what you are doing stay away from using this type
of prog keep from using them you are asking for problems.

I'm just asking because I got advice from a friend not to download any .exe files from Limewire, and I was wondering why. Please, tell me how to find out what anti-virus software I have on my computer, and how to use it to scan downloads? Thanks for the advice.
