h, having just installed some mp3 software on my desktop pc, i received a message saying that a newer version of the software was available, and downloaded it. I then had to restart my computer, and when i did, all the characters were symbols, question marks, moons, squares etc. as though it was in the wrong format. Tried a system restore several times but it wont do it. Help!!
I am using xp pro and have anti virus software (norton) and 2 firewalls installed,

If you go to Control Panel | Fonts ... is it empty?

Basically your font has been changed to WingDings.

Have you tried multiple Restore Points?
