    Hi,Olga

Try this for me please but make a full backup of the Registry
before you do anything in the Registry.

    # Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT, click OK
    # Browse to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
    # Create a new value called: NoDriveTypeAutoRun of type DWORD, value: 0x000000b1 (177)
    # Close Regedit
    # Log off/Log On or reboot to ensure that the change takes effect.

    Hi HGD,
It won't let me create a new value with this name as there is one already. I can probably edit the existing one. Should I do that?

OK somehow the old value disappeared and I've created the one you advised. Not a thing chaged...

    Thanks HGD,
I am very curious myself - it looks like this is something unique (ha-ha)
I think I will have enough patience for some time. Maybe we'll be able to conquer this!
