I am running XP Home edition Service Pack 2. Ever since I've instialled it, my system has been running slower than before. Microsoft told me they suspected spyware and had be install and run Spybot. I did. Slight improvement. But then I discovered that the Spybot site appears to be blocked from my Explorer 6.0.
A nice Hestia Customer Care rep Laura, who is also a memebr of DAL, suggested I post my question here as she suspected my PC was infected with Malware/Hijackers. "Some of them prevent users to download known anti-spyware programs and spyware removers or visit the websites," she said.
Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.
Bob
See if you can get there with this URL

I cannot access that site, either. Same problem as with Spybot site. It appears blocked from my Explorer.

Thanks, but there is no Spybot restriction among the restricted sites within the Security tab of the Explorer.
Of course, there are some numbered sites on the Restricted list, and one of them could be Spybot. But I have no way of knowing that.
What will that do? I am hesitant to download things before knowing for sure what the outcome will be.Originally Posted by airheads
You can read all about what it is and what it does at the URL provided by airheads, HTHOriginally Posted by phoenix

I've tried and cannot access http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/, either. Looks like someone really does not want me to run any spyblocking software, doesn't it? What now?
