Hello
I am having a little trouble with my XP SP2 machine. I will be using it and all will be working fine. Then for some reason I will no longer be able to open any files or documents. I can open the explores window but thats all. No error message appears just the hourglass for a few seconds then nothing. I cannot open task manager to check the file. I have run spybot, adaware and AntiVir XP. When I restart my computer all seems to be working correctly again then eventually the same problem occurs. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Press control-alt-delete to get into the task manager and end the follow processes if they exist:
l?gonui.exe

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. if it is uncheck it and try again.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Then do a reboot tell me how the PC is doing & i need more
info from you when you say Files won't open?????

It seems I am still having the same problem. To be more specific I can still open up the hard drives but cannot open any programs. Even system things like add/remove programs and taskmanager will not open. I do still have access to internet explorer. That seeems to be the only program that opens. I will rerun hijack this and post the log. Hijack this will run when I click on the .exe but the log file will not open since it uses notepad. I will restart then post my logfile.
