    Haxdoor-H

    Hello.

I recently did a complete format of my system, and have been slowly re-building it with a view to taking an Image that I can revert to everytime things get in a mess. Before I took the final image for future use, I ran spybot and it flagged up one result which is Haxdoor-H. I've hardly used the internet whilst compiling all the apps etc, so Im suspicious that its inherited from one of many bits of freeware that I have. Spybot appears to fix it, and yet shows up again on a re-scan.
IM guessing there is a methodical way to go about getting rid of this, but thats where my knowledge comes to a halt.

    Here's my HJT log:

    Hello,Mister Fink & Welcome

This item here if not put inplace by you or Admins of the PC fix it
NOTE some progs like Spybot will add this make sure
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

same as above if not your Start page fix it
    O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.freeserve.com/

to fix the items you would run HijackThis put a check mark in
the boxes next to each item then click fix checked.

now the file you are talking about is a Trojan so do this
    for me please.

    Download FindIt's.zip to your desktop.
Unzip/extract the files inside preferable to C:\ < a new folder.
Disconnect from the internet, if you use an always on internet connection unplug it.
Let your PC be idle for 15 minutes !!
Open the folder and run the FindIt's.bat and wait for a text to open, it will take awhile be patient, post the results please.

If you get an error similar to:

    Hi,Mister Fink

Happy to say it's clean now if you want to be 100% sure
do this here then let us know.

Download ewido security suite from here… http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Update it’s database from here.. http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/
Run a scan and let it clean the PC.

NOTE there maybe an option to update from within
the prog it self but download the update just incase

Thanks for all your help HJT.

I ran the ewido scanner (with updates etc installed) and it only found a few tracking cookies.
Spybot still shows haxdoor-h, but I think I'll just live with it as Im sure it must have been on the pc before and yet Ive never seen any evidence of my system being comprimised (They would have to get round the firewall and then my system passwords which are at least 15 characters and also alpha-numeric).

Ive taken a final image which is as clean as Im going to get it.

    Thanks again

Thanks HJThis, Cheers as well Mister Fink, donations don't get sent in very often so when we get one it's a nice suprise! All the money goes straight into hosting and maintenance to help keep the site going.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
Seems like Haxdoor-H is related to my Radmin application, but its' nothing to worry about: (from the radmin forum)

This is false positive. SpyBot detects some Radmin Registry keys as HAXDOOR-H, which is wrong. We are already working with SpyBot to make them stop detecting Radmin.
Sorry about that /blush. Still, if that's the case then i really do have a sterile PC Happy daze
