About:Blank Hijack - cannot remove!

Hello,dooza1 & Welcome
First make sure you can view all hidden files and folders, use this link for help.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html
Now, let's open a command prompt and unregister the dll(s) we're going to remove, by entering the following:
regsvr32 /u javaoq32.dll
It's ok, if these aren't found or 'error' out. If you want, just copy and paste the individual lines to the command prompt to save on the typing.
Copy all my instructions into wordpad and save to your desktop. You can't have any open browser windows.
Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper ( 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I) and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled.
Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it):
sysfq32.exe
CAUTION: There is also a service named Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator and one called Remote Procedure Call (RPC) . These are the legitimate services. Do not stop those two.
Now Download the following Cleanup! About:Buster, CWshredder,Ad-aware, & Spy-bot
* Updating Ad-aware:
Double-Click the Desktop Icon > Click 'Check For Updates Now' > Click 'Connect'
* Updating Spybot:
Double-Click the Desktop Icon > Click Update > Drop-Down Box UniDo(Europe) > Select Pure-Elite(USA) or EON (AU) > Click 'Search for Updates' > Click 'Download Updates'
Please Copy ALL My Notes Below Into Notepad and Save the File to Your Desktop. You Need to be Offline and In Safe Mode to Remove Everything in your Log
Now rebooot into safe mode (press f8 during reboot, select safe mode) and DON'T reconnect to the net. You MUST be in safe mode to remove the About:Blank Bug on your system.
Run Hijackthis and place a check next to the following
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINNT\xotbg.dll/sp.html#23794
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINNT\xotbg.dll/sp.html#23794

Thanks so much for your help - seems as if you've solved the problem!
Should I go through the System 32 files and clear out some of the about:blank application files that were generated?
Also, how do I stop IE from opening when I boot up the computer - it's the only change still left from the about blank situation.
Thanks for your help again - I was ready to throw my computer down the stairs!
Will contribute to the paypal account!

Hi,dooza1
Well just to be on the safe side here you should post
one more HijackThis logfile like i said before this thing
makes it self look like it went bye bye then hey here i am
& yes if you find it delete it.
You should also do this here
clean out system restore like so
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...rc=sec_doc_nam
& get this out of the way
Empty your Temp folders as follows:
Open Internet Explorer. You'll get a Page not Found error, but that's normal in safe mode.
At the top, click Tools>Internet Options> and then, in the center click Delete Cookies
Click Delete Files and then in the new applet check the box for all offline content
Click OK
Close that applet and open the C>Windows>Temp folder, and delete all files in there too, and all files in sub-folders of Temp.
Note: If you cannot delete them all at once because you have too many, then click and hold ctrl and highlight a batch of them at a time. Once highlighted, R-click over the highlight and select delete. Rinse, lather, repeat until folder is empty
Double check to see if the folder C:\DOCUMENTSandSETTINGS\YOUR NAME\LOCALSETTINGS\Temp is empty.
Empty your recyle bin
Warning please make sure to do a new restore point after
you turn it back on
