My problem is not isolated to just IE. Also AVG isnt scanning thru everything. Updates (and other programs) wont download. I ran Hijack This. Here is my log.

please be patient as this is by far the busiest forum and somebody will check out your log as soon as is possibly possible

when you said that you followed the instructions did you also do adaware and spybot before doing a hijak this log if so ok if not could you please follow the advice called owens help in my downloads a nd then post a fresh hjt log

Yes, Spud, thank you for your cordiality... Im the absolute most patient person you'll ever meet, but I foam at the mouth in the presence of rudeness.

As for spyware removal programs, I have run cwshredder, spybot, and adaware. I beleive that there may have been a problem with the adaware as it turned up nothing before (this morning) I have since posting above, uninstalled/reinstalled it and it found some things which it fixed. It said 9 were critical. Do you need the log of this? Do I also need to redo/repost the hijack this log? The only thing that changed is that AVG now will go thru all the files (it wasnt before, it would stop partway thinking it was finished).

Browsers are still shutting down at particular sites. And they are consistent. And it doesnt matter which browser I use (IE, Netscape, or Firefox).

so in theory you should run every thing like adaware spybot avg norton and what ever you have then do a hjt log then post it in the same thread as this one dont start a new one because it will just slow down the system

in C:\Drive like so C:\HJT

Then i think it would be a good idea to Remove/Uninstall this prog
here Spyware Begone just goto Control Panel Add/Remove Programs
look for the above prog & Uninstall/Remove then i say go with
