This is sad to hear as for WinMe hard to say but a friend of
mine was having tons of problems with Me the OS not Me
& as soon as he installed XP happy happy time

but don't run out & buy XP because of what i just said
first do all you can to make sure it's not some software
you may have installed or if it is a Ram on it's way out
did you check the fan see if removing the cover

see if after the PC being on the fan keeps working
you could also try & shut down some items to see
if maybe there is something running that ME is saying
hold on there.

what i am trying to tell you is it can be a lot of
things so try & remove the cover see if fan is stays
working remove the Rams put them back

let us know where you are going from here
