    Hi,

One thing to take a look at is the dialup settings make
sure you don't have Call Waiting on or checked on i would
also see if removing the card & cleaning it helps
also check the phone line they do go bad.

Both use the same line and this one connects, so i dont think its the line. I have already removed the modem and also reinstalled, neither work. The connection settings are as they should be sooooooo I dont know

    Hi,damien4uuk

Not sure if you gave this a try see what happens if
you remove the puter that is working & see if the one

Just butting in with some useless information.... I had this problem for months and months when on dial up. We had 4 computers networked through the host. The host was having the same problem....... registering your computer on the network, then it would cut off. I set it to keep redialling and after about half an hour it did finally connect. I did every check that was going and everything came back clean. The only way I solved it was by swapping one of the other pc's to be the host. So the problem was definitely something to do with the pc . I am watching this thread avidly incase I ever have the misfortune to end up back on dial up.
