Startpage Guard didn't notify me of any changes, I've only had it a few days.

Spybot s&d picked up ncase and cydoor. It couldn't fix and suggesting re starting with another scan. When I did this the entries had gone. It just picks up 5 DSOexploit every time. That's what made me do the hijack log, nearly had a thousand fits when I saw search assistant again!

Heres the instructions for getting rid of DSO Exploit:

Go to Start | Run

Type in regedit

In the left hand pane, find the following key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0

In the right hand pane, double click 1004 (DWORD) and change the value to 3 (do not delete the key)

After you do that go to this page and download the patch dsostop2.exe

(downloading this alone will not stop it from coming back you must edit the registry also).

If StartPage Guard didn't do the trick, I suggest you enable the TeaTimer for Spybot Search And Destroy which monitors for many changes like Startup changes, ActiveX Chnages, BHO Changes and Start and Search page changes. You can enable it in Spybot's settings.

got to 1004(dword) but not sure what you mean by 'change the value to 3'

so it reads 3 instead of 1004?

When you get to 1004, double click it and a box will appear called "Edit String".

In the "Value Data:" box, type 3 and press Ok.
