Annoying Hijack, plz help, no1 responded last time.
Hi. I'm experiencing a really really annoying pop-up hijack that I just CAN'T seem to get rid of. I posted a thread about a month and a half ago about this same problem and waiting bout 2 weeks for a response, but no one ever got back to me. Here's my HJT log, and anything you experts could do to help would be MOST appreciated!!!
Thanks so much,
Chelsea.

Hello,Savestheday1703 & Welcome
Oh boy lot's to do here so lit's get this here first
Wintools may have an entry in the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. If so, it may be easy to get rid of. If not, there are still ways to remove it from your system.
For either solution:
Reboot into Safe Mode.
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode. To get back to normal mode just restart the computer as you normally would.
Once in Safe Mode:
Click on the Start Button, Control Panel. Double-click on Administrative Tools then on Services.
Look for a service called Wintools for IE Service. double-click it to open, then click the Stop button and change the "Startup type" to Disabled.
(If the service is not there, no worries...all the better!)
Next, right-click on the Windows Taskbar and select Task Manager.
In the Processes tab, look for WToolsA.exe, WToolsS.exe and WSup.exe. If any or all of these exist, right-click on each one and select End Process Tree, and answer affirmatively to any confirmation questions.
At this point, you can check the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. If there is an uninstaller for Wintools, try running it now. I would still recommend proceeding through the rest of this fix even if there is an uninstaller, however.
Now, please open a command prompt (Start button -> Run, type cmd and click "OK"). at the prompt, type
regsvr32 /u /s "C:\Program Files\Toolbar\toolbar.dll" then <ENTER>.
Then type exit to close the command prompt window.
Now, we can proceed to delete these directories, located at:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinTools <-- Delete the BOLD directory.
C:\Program Files\Toolbar <-- Delete the BOLD directory.
Reboot and post a new hijackthis log.

Ok...
I rebooted into Safe Mode.
When I went into Administrative Tools Services, And into the Wintools for IR Service, it said that the "Service Status" was already stopped.
In The Task manager, there was no sign of WToolsA.exe, WToolsS.exe, or WSup.exe. The only thing that started with a "W" in there was "Winlogin.exe."
In Add/Remove programs, all of the uninstallations required internet connection (which you don't have in Safe Mode.)
The following were in Add/Remove Programs:
Search Assistant
180 Search Assistant (Which no matter how many times I uninstall, it always comes back.)
Websearch Tools (Same as above)
Win-Tools Easy Installer (By Websearch) -- This requires INSTALLING and UNINSTALLER which is suspicious to me and that's hwy I haven't dont it thus far.
When I searched for:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinTools, A folder called "WinTools" came up and I deleted it.
C:\Program Files\Toolbar, A fole called "Custom_toolbar.swf" came up, as well as two folders- "Create a Custom Toolbar" and "Toolbar."
I deleted "Toolbar."
Here's the updated log, but allof those things are still in my Add/Remove Programs because they keep comming back and I'm reluctant to install and uninstaller for Win-Tools, it seems suspicious.

popular programs for doing this, is a freeware program Called Crap Cleaner. Crap Cleaner is a single utility that lets you clear your Cookies, Internet Explorer History, Empty the Recycle Bin, Uninstall Programs, Clear Usage Tracks and much more. As well as this, it has an Advanced Registry Scanner. Using a program like this is one of the easiest methods.
Then do a reboot do this here
Go for free online Virus scans here:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hou.../start_corp.asp

Be sure and put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it or make a note of the file location so you can delete it yourself.

Hey,Savestheday1703
Hmmm ok do this here
Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.
Please download Nailfix from here:
http://users.pandora.be/bluepatchy/nailfix.zip
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.
Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml
Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.bat. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.
Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Post the log from the scan here for me.
Then please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.
Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Okay. My internet was being really horrid as I was trying to download Ewido and Nailfix, so I don't even know if it worked right. (Internet Optimizer was attacking my computer.) But yeah, so I downloaded both programs and booted into SafeMode. While in SafeMode, I couldn't run Ewido, it wouldn't open it said it couldn't be found. I ran Nailfix.
I ran HJT... and here's the updated log.

And there's others that sound suspicious too. What is Wintools? Is that something bad? Cause I'm seeing it all over the place.
But yeah, this pop-up virus / internet hijack is getting TERRIBLE. and I have this thing called "Aurora" which makes all these pop-ups come up and that basically launches every time I go onto a website.
Ahhh. This is wretched.
