Cant upload files- HijackThis Log
I cant upload files anywhere, email or file transfer. Also, the task manager shows RAM 100% full at times, which stops when i disconnect from the net. After that i cannot transfer anything on the net unless I reboot.
The trojan QUKART was present, but my AV deleted the dll file that it dropped. Still, the problem of uploading continues.
Here's the HT log ..

Hello,paladin & Welcome
First
Please change the location of HijackThis.exe.
Create a new folder in your C: Drive
Name it C:\HJT or HijackThis and move the HijackThis.exe file in it.
It's best for this tool NOT TO be located in your Desktop or in a TEMP folder.
This way you can undo any changes if something goes wrong
Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {62999427-33FC-4baf-9C9C-BCE6BD127F08} - (no file)

Did as you said, and rebooted. But it was back to the same problem.
1) Can't connect to the internet (TCP/IP Error 31 - Device attached to the system is not functioning)
2) If connection successful (which happens when I reboot) then no data transfer occurs.
3) If data transfer occurs, then no uploading is possible (like now)
Pt 1) doesnt seem to be a device problem as it works fine most of the time, and does so anyway on reboot.
Here's the HT log file now ....

Ok i have 2 things to try here
1)Download this file run it reboot see how it gos http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/WinsockXPFix.exe
if no go then option
2)Check that NetBIOS service is enabled. Go to Start> Run and type services.msc and press ENTER. Here navigate to the service LmHosts and it's StartUp Type should be Automatic. If there is something else in the StartUp Type option change it to Automatic.

That link is dead ... i'm dloading it from an alt.
There is no LMhosts on the services list
Thanks for hanging arnd ... but I cant connect to the net whenever I choose too
-
YEA !!
Netsockxpfix fixed the uploading problem .... whether even the connecting issue is fixed ... I should find out soon.
RAM is still 100% full though .. the comp is crawling.
-
Update :
Upload has stopped working again. Connecting is a nightmare, I got it this time after 5 reboots. Plus, whenever I do, RAM starts clogging up, till I disconnect, and then poof ...cant connect again.
There doesnt seem to be anything wrong in the log ..... but here it is anyway ....

Hi,paladin
Well off the top of my head i'm lost hmmm did you try
doing a good cleaning in side the puter? also how are the
Rams did you install anything new before the problem started
how hot is the puter running.
if your on Cable/DSL what about a reinstall. you are also
running an out of date WinXP & IE but i don't think an
upgrade will help at this point
but think of what i just said i will keep trying to
find some help on this so check back on me
