Oh no HJ, all firewalls seem to stop even genuine connections from working, I've tried almost all of the well known ones and given up.

Hmmm odd it may not be the Firewall but your setup
did you give Look & Stop a try it's a great firewall

well if you can't you need to do things to make
it hard for others to get to your stuff. talking about
Registry, system files, & so on in this case i would
be thinking about a sandbox lit me know a lot of these items
can be found for free
