A adware called 'ABetterinternet' appears on my system, I can remove it but it comes back, is there a way to stop it from re-appearing?

Yes & it's a pain to work with but do this first

could you please update and run both Spybot S+D and Adaware, as per these instructions. Then can you update your Hijack this from this link then post a fresh log.

now if you have the 2 programs just make sure to update them
run a full scan with both then show us a HijackThis logfile

I've had this same problem, with abetterinternet (also called Aurora). When I run updated versions of Spybot, it finds it, I remove it, but if I do another search it comes up in the results again. I am also running a updated version of Adaware, have Zone Alarm Fire Wall (which is stopping it from accessing the net, but I want it off my system!) and AVG Virus Checker.

Any suggestions?

Sure, no worries

Right I have ran CCleaner fully, AdAware fully, Spybot search and destroy fully and Spyware Blaster fully, all were updated first. I am also running AVG Virus Checker and Zone Alarm Firewall.
But..... Abetterinternet and Aurora (both linked, I believe) are still keep trying to access the internet (are being blocked by my Firewall). So they are still on my system somewhere!! It still keeps appearing in my Spybot results too!!

My computer has been updated recently for software development, so there are quite a few lines on my HiJack this file making reference to SQLServer and such like. But I am only a begginner, so please don't ask me too many questions about these, as I doubt I will know the answers.

Please help, this Abetterinternet is driving me nuts!!

I managed to get the Spyware removed with "Spyware Doctor" from here: http://www.download.com/Spyware-Doct...-10293212.html

It's kind of annoying that you have to run 4 or 5 spyware checkers to get EVERYTHING removed from your PC, you would have thought that someone by now would have created the ultimate checker that got rid of eveything in one go...

I mean, is it really nessecary to run all these once a week: Spyware Doctor, CCleaner, AVG Virus Checker, Spyware Blaster, Spybot, AdAware and Defrag, just to keep your PC running well?!

First glad you got it fixed but some of these bad guy's
there is just no way to go after them with one prog
in one shot they just change so fast today.

what you had on your PC today will be something
new the next day but there are a ton of PPL out
here trying to stay on top of it.
