Hello,loveland & Welcome
Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:
Media Access,Ubi Soft or Register
Please change the location of HijackThis.exe.
Create a new folder in your C: Drive
Name it C:\HJT or HijackThis and move the HijackThis.exe file in it.
It's best for this tool NOT TO be located in your Desktop or in a TEMP folder.
This way you can undo any changes if something goes wrong
Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [www.hidro.4t.com ] enbiei.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Media Access] C:\Program Files\Media Access\MediaAccK.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows DHCP] C:\WINDOWS\System32\___r.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Synchronization Manager] ___synmgr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Synchronization Manager] ___synmgr.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Synchronization Manager] ___synmgr.exe
O4 - Startup: ubisoft register.lnk = C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Register\schedule.exe

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hou.../start_corp.asp
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/
Be sure and put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it or make a note of the file location so you can delete it yourself.
& then run new scan show us logfile

Hey,loveland
Hmmm i forgot to add are you running an Anti-Virus
if no bad idea with all the free ones out here
here is a good free one
Get the latest version of AVG from here.
& also like to add once we have you all clean
you need to run not walk over to Windows update site
& update both WinXP & IE but only after we have you all clean
not before
HGD
-
OKay jus to let you know how it all went;
Add/Remove List -> only Media Access was there, think it had been deleted anywayz and has now been removed from the list.
Subsequently the Media Access folder was not there.
___r.exe and Ubi Soft successfully deleted.
Successfully found and deleted enbiei.exe and r.exe. synmgr.exe could not be found by its own search but it came up in a different search and i deleted it then.
Downloaded AVG anti-virus and did a Panda Software Virus scan (40 odd viruses
)

Hey,loveland
Well it looks like they are back please have a look at this link
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/viru...LAN.A&VSect=Sn
see if you can do as asked there now if you have a problem
do this here
Download FindIt's.zip to your desktop.
Unzip/extract the files inside preferable to C:\ < a new folder.
Disconnect from the internet, if you use an always on internet connection unplug it.
Let your PC be idle for 15 minutes !!
Open the folder and run the FindIt's.bat and wait for a text to open, it will take awhile be patient, post the results please.
http://forums.net-integration.net/in...post&id=142443
If you get an error similar to:
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application...etc etc'
Go here and use the approprient fix for your system

Sry, im bein a nuisance i no.
The first one didnt work, even with Process Explorer.
The second one:
I got an error, and after having to click close loads of times i got a txt doc (see below; Log)
After this is downloaded the appropriate patch, if thats what it is. It was automatically set to extract to System32, so thats what i did, hopefully thats OK?
Since doing this i get the error 'Data error reading device' in the .bat file, you get the options 'abort, retry, fail' at the end; retrying does nothing except bring the message up again.
Log:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
The current date is: 05/05/2005
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FILES FOUND BY THIS METHOD ARE NOT BAD FILES, THERE MIGHT BE LEGIT FILES LISTED AND PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE FIXING. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHAT IT IS LEAVE THEM ALONE.

Hi,loveland
Ok i found 2 site's with the info you need to kill them all
just take your time & please make sure to backup all of the Registry
to like C:\Drive
the first link will help you with this one here you could use just
the one site but it could be a pain.
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/anal...32maslana.html
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows DHCP] C:\WINDOWS\System32\___r.exe
next link is for these keys
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/anal...32sdbotrw.html
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Microsoft Synchronization Manager
___synmgr.exe
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Services
Microsoft Synchronization Manager
___synmgr.exe
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Microsoft Synchronization Manager
___synmgr.exe
now you could goto each key your self & delete them just
like i said backup all of the Registry first
