Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Fix these only if not put inplace by you or Admins of this puter
also some programs like Spybot will lock these

Altnet Removal Instructions

Before you delete it, it must have it permission changed:

Open the registry (Start->Run->regedit) and select the keys

Start with the top folder which is Altnet and work down and follow these instruction to change the permission for all folders.

Right click on Altnet then click on permission, click on add, click on advanced, click on find now, and look for your log on name and click on okay twice to get back to permissions for Altnet. Now, put a check mark in the boxes for allow after click on advanced, click on the tab for owner and highligt your log under \'change owner to\' and check the box that say\'s : \'Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects\\' and click on ok, click on apply and click ok. Continue the same for the rest of the folders listed.

After the changing the permission, end the ?Altnet? process from the Task Manager (ctrl-alt-delete). Having successfully done this you should be able to delete the entire ?Altnet? folder.

but i still find adware in my pc when i scan it in safe mode:
adware p2pnetworking
adware webrebates
adware bde
adware topsearch
adware galor
adware instaFinder
dialer target - could this be the culprit?

can't quarantine the infection's...plz help..

Please have a look in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
see if any of these are there if so try & Remove them

p2pnetworking
webrebates
bde
topsearch
galor
instaFinder

Those applications are not found in the add/remove programs BUT under the quarantined section of the Norton anti-virus, there are tons of files. Some of them were mentioned by u earlier. Wonder whether it is safe to remove them? (these were detected under the safe-mode scan a night ago)

Among the Trojan.ByteVerify threatnames are
beyond.class; blackbox.class, counter.class, dummy.class.etc etc etc.class, etc.

In the Adware.Gator (Threat Names), files found are adm.exe, asm.exe, cmesys.exe, adm25.dll, admdloader.dll, gcontroller.dll, gmt.exe, gmtproxyl.dll, etc.

There are so many other threatnames found which is not easy to list them all.

Is it safe to remove all of these in the quarantine section?
